A Seminole County schools director was arrested after authorities say she shoplifted merchandise from a department store.
OVIEDO, Fla. (AP) — The Orlando Sentinel reports that 37-year-old Erica Pooler, director of the Seminole County Public Schools Office of School Safety and Alternative Placement, was arrested Tuesday night on a retail theft charge.
An arrest affidavit states Pooler and her niece tried to steal merchandise worth $863.44 from a Kohl's department store near Oviedo. A security guard told Seminole County deputies that he saw the two hide merchandise as they walked through the store.
Pooler was released from the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on a $2,500 bond Wednesday. It's unclear if she has an attorney.
Spokesman for the schools department Michael Lawrence says Pooler will be placed on administrative leave.
