Oviedo plant shop gives away free plants before Christmas

OVIEDO, Fla. — Seminole County residents with a green thumb were given a special gift before Christmas.

Gabriella Plants distributed over 2,800 plants to around 800 people at the Oviedo giveaway on Tuesday.

The line wrapped around the building with guests excited to fill their homes with fresh flora and fauna, grown directly in Oviedo.

Shane Maloy, founder and CEO of Gabriella Plants, said this year was difficult for many and they were glad to be able to put a smile on people’s faces.

Maloy said this is the second time the plant shop has organized this giveaway. The shop also helps out the community with educational workshops and fundraisers for relief efforts.
