Seminole High School student arrested after gun found in backpack

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Seminole High School student was arrested Thursday after a gun was found in his or her backpack, Seminole County Public Schools said.

The student, whose identity was not publicly disclosed, was arrested after school.

The school received a tip about the gun and its administrative and security team located the student and searched him or her.

“We are thankful for the individual that shared this information with us,” Principal Michael Pfeiffer said in a message to students’ parents. “Incidents like these carry very heavy consequences that can change lives.”
