Siegel family discusses daughter's tragic death with WFTV

WINDERMERE, Fla. — Channel 9's Jorge Estevez spoke with family members Tuesday after the daughter of Westgate Resorts founder David Siegel was found dead in the family's Windermere home this past weekend.

Deputies responded to the family’s home on Green Island Cove Saturday where they found Victoria Siegel, 19, unresponsive. She was taken to Health Central Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Channel 9 learned Victoria Siegel battled with prescription medications and recently had been released from rehab.

At Victoria's memorial on Tuesday, David Siegel's wife Jackie said they believe their daughter was a victim of a cyberattack, and she reverted to prescription medication to numb the pain.

"I don't think (she) had any intentions of killing herself. I think she just wanted to soothe the pain she was going through," said Jackie Siegel.

"This should've been a happy time of celebration where I would have been walking her down the aisle and she would have started a new life as a new wife and a new mother," said David Siegel. "Instead we are having to bury her."

The cause of death is pending toxicology reports.

David Siegel said he is looking into pressing charges in the case.

David Siegel is best known as the founder of Westgate Resorts, the time-share company that owns properties across the United States.

His family was also included in “The Queen of Versailles,” a 2012 documentary that initially focused on the construction of their 90,000-square-foot mansion.

The Siegels were also recently featured on the ABC show “Celebrity Wife Swap.”
