Skimmer found at St. Cloud gas station

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Police found a credit card skimming device at a St. Cloud 7-Eleven gas station on Thursday.

Authorities found the device at the station at U.S. Route 192 and Narcoossee Road. Julio Rivas said he pumps there all the time and isn't sure if his card has been compromised.

"It's my money. My hard-earned money," Rivas said.

St. Cloud police and the Florida Department of Agriculture checked 16 gas stations around the city on Thursday. Fifteen of the stations were clean, but one skimmer was found at the 7-Eleven.

Officers said for people who have pumped at the gas station to check their bank statements and cards.

"It's terrible. We're working hard for a living, and these people steal your money just like that. It's no good," Rivas said.

The manager of the station said they routinely check pumps, but didn't say when their last check was before the skimmer was found.
