Man accused in Texas teen's shooting death turns self in

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man suspected of shooting and killing a teenager outside a downtown Orlando club is in jail after surrendering himself to authorities late Monday night.

Durick Ingraham knew he was wanted several days ago for the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Dino Cannon outside club Limelite on June 15, so he contacted his attorney and turned himself in.

But the 24-year-old said he is innocent.

Ingraham was booked into the Orange County Jail.

He will face a judge for the first time Tuesday morning.

But Ingraham's sisters told WFTV he didn't do it.

"You cannot pick him out because he has a gun, and all the multiple fights going on at one time for you to say he did it? He didn't do it, he's innocent," she said.

"My prayers go out to his family. Yes it does, because you know it's not right but they have the wrong person, period," said one woman.

Cannon was on vacation from Texas with his family, celebrating his high school graduation, when investigators said he got into a fight with some people inside the club.

Witnesses told WFTV it's because someone inappropriately touched his sister.

Investigators believe Ingraham was one of the instigators and that after he was kicked out of the club, he shot Cannon to death in the parking lot.

The chaos outside the club before the gunshots are heard can be seen from video taken by a club goer.

Ingraham's attorney Tim Berry wants another look at the video. He says Ingraham did not pull the trigger.

"His sisters say there were so many people that night and they're pinning it on the wrong person," said Berry. "Apparently, there was a big fight that was caught on someone's cellphone, and my client was the victim of that fight."

WFTV will be at Ingraham's first appearance and will update this story as more information develops.
