Suspected brothel busted in Orlando for 2nd time in 8 months

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation said it cracked down on a massage parlor, suspected to be a brothel, for the second time in eight months. The parlor sits at the corner of Colonial Drive and Magnolia Drive in downtown Orlando.

The place was operating under the name Green T Spa until MBI agents shut the place down in April for running as an alleged prostitution ring.

This time, it was being run as Downtown Massage, but investigators said the business plan was the same.

"This is at least the eighth prostitution case we've built out of this business," said an MBI agent.

WFTV was there as the woman who runs Downtown Massage was taken away to jail on prostitution charges.

The owner of the building has been served a second notice of possible racketeering charges for allowing illegal activity on his property, agents said.

"The owner needs to be aware if he's not going to clean up his property we'll help him with it," said an agent.

It's the second time in a week that law enforcement has gone after property owners as well as the accused criminals.

Last week, the Orange County Sheriff's Office sent a hotel a notice of nuisance abatement because of alleged drug and prostitution activity.

"The city can go as far as seizing the property, but chances are it won't rise to that level through nuisance abatement, but I think we can get his attention this time," said the agent.
