Teen charged with robbing GameStop, threatening employee with gun

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A Flagler county teen on probation was arrested after deputies say he robbed a GameStop and threatened an employee with a gun.

According to deputies, a GameStop employee called 911 on Tuesday morning to report a customer inside the store with a gun.

Investigators say the clerk told them the customer, later identified as 16-year-old Skyler Thomas, walked into GameStop, flashed a gun and demanded all the money from the register.

Deputies say after the robbery, Thomas then began walking towards Flagler Palm Coast High School.

A School Resource Deputy hearing the radio call about the robbery spotted Thomas walking towards the front gate of the school and ordered him to the ground.

According to deputies, Thomas told them he “wasn’t trying to hurt anyone” and that the gun was fake.

Thomas was arrested and turned over to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and charged with Armed Robbery, Petit Theft, and Violation of Probation.
