ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported more than 19,816 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with 4,508 of those cases in Central Florida.
This marks the highest single-day increase since the pandemic began.
According to the Department of Health, there have been 1,429,722 cases of the virus reported in Florida.

On Thursday, the state also reported an additional 170 virus-related deaths, including 30 in Central Florida.
The state’s total death toll is now 22,817.

The department of health also reports 384,223 people had been vaccinated for COVID-19 in Florida, an increase of 55,163 since Wednesday.
