Tickets to go on sale for March Madness rounds at Amway Center

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Amway Center will be hosting the second and third rounds of the 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament. Tickets for the two rounds will go on sale October 19.

Four games will tip off on March 20 and two more on March 22. The games are expected to generate 14,000 hotel room nights and nearly $10 million of economic impact for the central Florida region.

The tickets that start at $198 will gain fans access to all six of the weekend’s games.

Nine-thousand tickets have already been grabbed by sponsors, and the Amway Center suggests that fans start buying their tickets early to ensure their spot.

This is the first time since 2004 that Orlando has hosted the early rounds of the NCAA tournament and the fifth time overall.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs served as co-chairpersons for the NCAA basketball organizing committee that was in charge of bringing the event back to central Florida. They called this the premiere collegiate sporting event in the country.

On March 16, the teams that will play in Orlando and their specific game times will be decided.
