ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 60-year-old woman died in a crash Saturday afternoon in Christmas, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Brenda Heckle, of Christmas, was riding a motorcycle shortly before 3:45 p.m. on East Colonial Drive when she slowed down to turn left onto Saint Nicholas Avenue, FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said.
For an unknown reason, William Crawford, 39, of Titusville, failed to slow down his pickup truck and crashed into Heckle's bike, Montes said.
Heckle, who was flung from the motorcycle, died at the crash scene.
Crawford had minor injuries.
Montes said charges are pending.
The crash, which closed eastbound lanes of State Road 50 for several hours, continues to be investigated.
No other details were given.
