Troopers release video, continue search for driver in deadly hit-and-run crash in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol has released new video and details of a fatal hit-and-run crash on Monday night.

Troopers responded to the crash around 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of Goldenrod Road and University Boulevard.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the pedestrian as a 39-year-old Orlando man.

Investigators believe the man was walking south across the westbound lanes of University Blvd and fell when attempting to cross the median.

Troopers said the man was not in a marked crosswalk when the car hit him.

FHP said after the collision, the driver continued traveling eastbound on University Boulevard, leaving the scene of the crash.

Troopers said they are looking for help from the public to find the driver and the car involved in the incident.

A car part located at the crash site could be linked to the hit-and-run vehicle, according to investigators.

The part appeared to be a piece of left front tire well from a dark blue Toyota Camry between the model years 2014-2017.

Troopers have released video of the area from the night of the crash.
