UCF football player shot outside east Orange County bar

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A University of Central Florida football player is recovering after being shot outside of an east Orange County bar early Saturday morning.

Defensive back Chris Williams, 20, was shot around 1 a.m. outside of King Tut's Lounge on Alafaya Trail, deputies said.

Investigators said they believe a physical fight led up to the shooting.

Williams was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

UCF officials confirmed that they're aware of the incident and said they were gathering more information.
