1 hurt, 1 airlifted due to severe firework injury in DeLand, firefighters say

DELAND, Fla. — Two people were injured from fireworks in DeLand Wednesday afternoon, one of them severely, firefighters said.

One of the injured was airlifted to a local hospital with a severe hand injury, officials said.

Firefighters said they, along with the DeLand Police Department, responded to the report of injuries before 2 p.m. on South Adelle Avenue.
