VOLUISA COUNTY, Fla. — A Deltona woman is facing felony charges in connection with an April crash that left a 4-year-old boy paralyzed and two others injured, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Ana Rosa Fajardo Espinoza, of Deltona, was arrested by Volusia deputies Tuesday on DUI, child neglect and culpable negligence charges according to the Sheriff’s office.

According to investigators, Fajardo Espinoza was driving south on Courtland Boulevard near Deltona April 12 when her car veered into the northbound lanes, hitting an SUV head-on.

The driver of the SUV, Fajardo Espinoza, and two boys, ages 3 and 4, were all seriously injured in the crash.
According to deputies, both children were airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando.
The 3-year-old was later released from the hospital while the 4-year-old remained hospitalized with paralyzing injuries.

Investigators say Fajardo Espinoza was seen speeding and swerving just before the crash.
Deputies say blood taken from Fajardo Espinoza at the time of the crash indicated the presence of THC, MDMA, MDA, methamphetamine and amphetamine in her system.
Fajardo Espinoza was booked into the Volusia County Jail, where she is being held on a $130,000 bond.
