EDGEWATER, Fla. — Troopers are investigating after they said a man was fatally struck in the southbound lanes of I-95 in Volusia County, forcing officials to shut down all the lanes.
Just before 5:30 a.m., officials said a 37-year-old man was standing in the middle of the lanes when he was hit by a car.
Troopers said the driver was unable to avoid the man.

It’s not known why the man was standing in the road.
The crash remains under investigation.
All lanes before Indian River Boulevard remain shut down in Edgewater.

The lanes could be shut down for a few hours.
