NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Volusia County deputies said they helped capture an escaped inmate who was on the run out of Brevard County.

Deputies said Thursday morning that they found Nathan Barker in New Smyrna Beach.
Volusia County deputies said they placed Barker into custody along with help from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Deputies said Barker originally escaped from the Florida Department of Corrections work release camp in Sharpes on Friday night.
Officials said Barker has a lengthy criminal history that includes drug charges and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
