Person of interest being interviewed in attempted sexual battery on jogger in Seminole County

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Update: A person of interest is being interviewed in the attack on a female jogger late Monday in unincorporated Seminole County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The interview comes after evidence was collected and information was obtained in the investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office has released video in the hopes the public can help identify a man who attacked a 22-year-old woman who was out for a jog.

The sheriff called the attack “attempted sexual battery” and said he has increased patrols to get the suspect off the street.

It happened around 8:40 p.m. near Hunt Club Boulevard in the Wekiva subdivision. Officials said the man followed the jogger.

Throughout the rest of the night, deputies will be patrolling the area and working on the case.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman reported a man following her on a previous jog two weeks ago, so she was aware of her surroundings on her jog Monday night.

The woman called for help as she was being attacked.
