FLORIDA — Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie, has pledged that all profits made at grocery stores on July 4, will be donated in support of veterans and service members as part of its “Hope for the Warriors Day.”
Hope for the Warriors is a North Carolina based charity, providing support for tens of thousands of service members, veterans and military families across the country since 2006.
On Winn-Dixie’s website, it said, “Hope for the Warriors believes that those touched by military service can succeed at home by restoring their sense of self, family and hope. Nationally, Hope for the Warriors provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement and connection to community resources.”
Last year for Independence Day, Southeastern Grocers raised more than $3 million for wounded veterans and the grocer has committed to support veterans again this year.
