BRADENTON, Fla. — A 78-year-old woman was killed during a mobile home fire in a Bradenton retirement community.
A Manatee County Sheriff's deputy who was patrolling the area around Bayshore Windmill Village smelled smoke Wednesday afternoon and discovered the fire.
Firefighters arrived a short time later and Margaret D. Anderson's body was found after the flames were extinguished.
Authorities said she was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The fire marshal is investigating.
