Woman killed, 2 children injured in Osceola County crash

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County crash left two children injured and a woman dead Sunday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said it happened about 9 a.m. on State Road 60 and Peavine Road.

Troopers said Spencer Altschuler, 19, of Plantation, was driving eastbound on SR 60 when he crossed into oncoming traffic to pass the car ahead of him.

Witnesses said that’s when he crashed head-on into 56-year-old Ivery Walker’s Hyundai.

Troopers said Walker’s car struck a guardrail and caught fire. She died at the scene.

Walker had a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old with her at the time of the crash.

Troopers said both are at the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital, one with serious injuries and the other in critical condition.

Walker and the two children were in town from Miami.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to FHP's report.

The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.
