Woman sought after purses stolen from car at cemetery as family visits grandmother's grave

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Lake County deputies are looking for a woman who they said burglarized a vehicle while the owners were visiting their grandmother’s grave.

Detectives said the woman stole two purses from a car parked at the Lakeside Memory Garden cemetery in Eustis.

The woman used the victims’ credit cards to buy $900 worth of prepaid Visa cards at two Walgreens stores where she was seen on surveillance video, deputies said.

Two other car burglaries were reported at the North Lake Community Park before the cemetery theft.

In those cases, the windows of the cars were smashed and purses and credit cards were stolen.

The same woman was captured on surveillance video at a Citgo gas station in Umatilla using the victims’ credit cards, deputies said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office or Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
