Many piers were damaged as Hurricane Matthew came through Northeast Florida, including the Flagler Beach pier.
Laura Hackett posted on Facebook that she found a piece of the pier that said "In Loving Memory of Grandma Gail Hill" and she is trying to reunite that piece with the person who originally purchased it.
The Palm Coast Observer reports that Hackett is a Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer who lives in Flagler Beach. Family members have contacted Hackett saying a board was purchased for a "Gail Hillis," the Observer reports.
