Worker accused of selling drugs in parking lot of mental health treatment facility

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A worker at a mental health treatment facility is accused of trafficking drugs in the parking lot, Channel 9 has learned.

Undercover agents and informants said they bought drugs from Moreno Fenelus at Lakeside Behavioral Health Care in Orange County.

MBI investigators said Fenelus had a stash of drugs and a handgun inside the treatment facility and that he would come out to the parking lot and sell drugs to undercover agents.

Lakeside Behavioral is a privately run facility that is partially funded by the state to assess and treat people with mental health issues in Orange County.

"We are cooperating fully with the investigation. It is an ongoing investigation," said Todd Dixon of Aspire Health Partners.

Dixon said Fenelus has since been fired, though Lakeside woudn't confirm what position he actually held at the facility or how much contact he had with patients.

Investigators said a confidential informant led them to Fenelus, who walked out of Lakeside and sold marijuana and molly to undercover agents on a few different occasions.

Most recently, authorities said Fenelus sold them a "smorgasbord" of drugs, including cocaine, molly, mushrooms and prescription pills.

Inside Fenelus' office, they found a 9mm handgun, ammo and $3,000.

State records show Fenelus is a licensed security officer, and Channel 9 learned guns are not allowed inside the treatment facility.

MBI officials are still trying to determine whether Fenelus was selling drugs to patients or possibly stealing prescription pills from Lakeside.

He's currently charged with selling marijuana and trafficking in molly, but investigators said more charges are coming.
