OCALA, Fla. — It was a venomous snake that sent a man shopping at an Ocala store to the hospital on Tuesday.
The 43-year-old man was pulling out patio stones in the garden section of a Lowe's Home Improvement store when a pygmy rattlesnake bit him on his left hand. Fire rescue officials said the unidentified man was actually bitten twice.
The man was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center and was expected to recover.
The snake was captured.
