VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Kimberly Dawn Smith is heading back to Volusia County, where five months ago, while she was in jail.
The bodies of two people Smith had appointed herself caretaker for, were found in her yard.
Smith faces nearly three dozen charges for using Arthur Sheldon's and Goldie Robinson's credit cards. But so far, investigators haven't charged her in the deaths, partly because they still don't know how the pair died.
"That's one of the things we're still waiting on, yes. We're still waiting on the medical examiners office," said Doug Quartier of the South Daytona Police Department.
Quartier said investigators will likely continue to talk to Smith when she moves into the Volusia County jail. But she hasn't said much during past visits.
In the meantime, police are still investigating more fraud charges, while hoping medical teams will give them more to work with.
"The doctors are going to confer. Once everything comes back they want to all get together. There's a couple things they want to discuss," Quartier said.
The trailer Smith lived in with her boyfriend is gone now, though police still have access if they need to look for more evidence.
Goldie Robinson's trailer still sits empty, just across the road. Police are still trying to find things missing from the trailer.
Smith's boyfriend David Enos, son Samuel Smith and his wife Chrystal, all face fraud or theft charges related to the case.
Dave Enos who has moved to Pennsylvania is scheduled to be in court this week for his fraud charge. Monday evening Kim Smith was still waiting to be transported from Orange County to Volusia County.
