Theme parks ready for increased capacity, lacking visitors

ORLANDO, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis was in Orlando Wednesday hosting a round-table discussion on the state of the major theme parks.

They’re still operating at limited capacity, leaving thousands of employees without jobs, and the tourism industry suffering.

Almost 23,000 hospitality workers have been laid off since June 1. 

Today, Gov. DeSantis said he’s prepared to bring more visitors into the parks once they’re ready, but they can’t for now because people just aren’t traveling to the area yet.

At the round-table, the Governor said he’ll be meeting with different airlines about getting people to Florida, but didn’t release any other details.
