Passengers aboard a plane in Somalia experienced frightening moments after a reported explosion ripped open a hole in the fuselage.
A passenger on board Daallo Airlines flight D3159 from Mogadishu to Djibouti captured the tense scene on board. One can hear the air rushing into the plane from the large hole, located near the right wing. Passengers appear anxious but remain seated, with most wearing their oxygen masks.
The cause of the plane's extensive damage has not been determined yet. There were early unconfirmed reports that a bomb was detonated on board, as well as witnesses seeing a burned body fall from the plane.
According to AirLive.net, passengers were moved away from the gaping hole to the back of the plane.
Yassin said two people suffered minor injuries, but could not confirm if all passengers had been safely removed from the plane once it returned to the airport in Mogadishu. Yassin said more details about the incident would be released Wednesday.
