Report: ‘Martin' star Tommy Ford dead at 52

ATLANTA — The actor who played Tommy on the 1990s sitcom "Martin" passed away Wednesday at an Atlanta hospital after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen, according to TMZ.

Tommy Ford’s health had declined since he was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, Gina Ford told the online site.

Ford had knee replacement surgery Sept. 28, according to his Twitter page. On Oct. 7, Ford posted that he had been in physical therapy.

He had not since posted on his account.

Tommy Ford, who also appeared in shows “New York Undercover,” “The Jamie Foxx Show” and “The Parkers,” starred in five seasons of “Martin” as Martin Lawrence’s unemployed, but loyal best friend.
