NEW YORK — A 3-year-old boy is recovering after he was burned by illegal fireworks that were shot off beneath his apartment building.
Officials said the boy was watching the explosions with his parents from the family’s apartment when one of the fireworks came through the bedroom window. They live on the sixth floor, News 12 Bronx reported.
The fireworks hit the child and burned his arm. He was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released, WCBS reported.
Video of the incident was recorded but may be too intense for some viewers.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio created a task force to stop illegal fireworks that have been set off in the area for the past week, WCBS reported.
