In a news release, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said that on Jan. 3, deputies were called out to the 5500 block of Fulmar Drive in Tampa about a loose pig in the area.

Once deputies arrived in the area, they saw a pig walking around several yards and oftentimes near the roadway. Neighbors reportedly told HCSO that the pig belonged to a resident nearby and it somehow managed to escape.

Two deputies, Deputy Chad Berona and Deputy Austin Dale, were able to track down the pig, who they later learned was named Princesa, according to WFLA.

Deputy Berona picked up the pig eventually and placed it in the back of the HCSO patrol vehicle, according to WFLA.

The owner was located after a little bit of time, according to HCSO. The owner was very grateful for the return of her pet.

“It’s great when our deputies can bring a smile to a citizen’s face,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister in the news release. “This is what our agency is all about, we are here to serve our community, no matter what the call for service is. I’m grateful to our deputies for handling this incident with such care and compassion.”
