POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A deputy police chief from Georgia was arrested while attending a professional seminar in Florida, after investigators said he tried to solicit an undercover detective posing as a prostitute.
Jason DiPrima, Deputy Chief of Police Administration for the Cartersville Police Department, was arrested by Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies on Sept. 1, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Detectives said that DiPrima had responded to an online escort advertisement and asked an undercover detective, “Are you available tonight?” and “I’d like to come see you — what is your rate?”
In the news release, detectives said that DiPrima was in Florida attending an American Polygraph Association seminar/workshop in Orlando at the time of his arrest.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said in the news release that DiPrima sent messages to the undercover detective over the course of two days, and agreed to come to meet them and pay $120 for “a half hour of ‘full service’ sex.” When DiPrima arrived at the agreed location, he allegedly gave the undercover detective $180 and a multipack of White Claw Hard Seltzer.
DiPrima was arrested and taken to jail, and was released after paying a $500 bond, deputies said.
The Cartersville Police Department was notified of the arrest, but there was no public information available on any possible discipline, WFLA reported.
