In a news release, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said Montrey Paige, 30, was arrested and charged with the second-degree murder of Jamins Robinson, 22, in July 2010.

Paige was taken into custody last week in Chambers County, Texas, on outstanding warrants out of Louisiana, according to authorities.

Robinson was found dead on the side of a road in July 2010, according to WGNO. At first, investigators believed Robinson had died following a hit-and-run incident. However, it was determined later that Robinson had died from a hit to the back of the head with a heavy object.

Cold case detective Mike Sticker picked up the case and followed possible leads. According to WGNO, Sticker was able to locate a witness who identified Paige and put him at the scene.

“Although Paige’s arrest won’t bring Jamins back, we’re hoping it brings a sense of peace and closure for his family and friends,” Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Jimmy Travis said in the news release. “Justice is finally served.”

Paige has been charged with a count of second-degree murder, three counts of failure to appear and a count of jumping bail on a felony case, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

No further information has been released.
