RALEIGH, N.C. — A Lyft driver in North Carolina was stabbed in the face early Sunday while attempting to break up a fight, authorities said.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers were called to a residence in Raleigh at about 1:53 a.m. EDT after receiving a report of a stabbing, WNCN-TV reported.
Police arriving at the scene found the ride-share driver, a man in his mid-30s, suffering from a stab wound to his face, according to the television station.

The Lyft driver was picking up a woman at her home when he allegedly witnessed a domestic assault between her and Toussaint Loverture Parks, 50, according to WRAL-TV.
When the driver attempted to intervene, Parks allegedly stabbed the man, according to the television station.
The driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive, WNCN reported. The woman was not injured.
Parks fled from the scene on foot but was arrested at about 5 a.m. EDT, according to the television station.
He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon, WNCN reported. The weapons charge was not related to Sunday’s incident, police said.
Parks is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, according to Wake County Sheriff’s Office online booking records. His bond was set at $100,000, online records show.
