JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested in Jacksonville, Florida for allegedly murdering a father back in February, officials say.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said on Thursday in a news release that Tamar Way, 39, was arrested for murder and home invasion robbery with a firearm.

On Feb. 17, JSO said they responded to a house on the 5200 block of Roanoke Boulevard for an unresponsive person inside a house. An unidentified man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

The victim was identified by WJAX as Darnell Wilson, 33. He was reportedly a father of three children.

JSO said the homicide and crime scene units responded to the house. Based on the evidence, detectives identified a person of interest. That person was reportedly located by the United States Marshal’s Task Force and was arrested on unrelated charges.

Way was already incarcerated at the time of his arrest in connection with Wilson’s murder, according to WJAX.

According to JSO, based on information, they believe that there are possibly other suspect or suspects involved in this case.
