BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A snake was captured after it was spotted loitering on a shelf in an Indiana Walmart.
The snake was taken into custody after it was found on the superstore’s shelf, the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control announced in a Facebook post. The snake, now named Wolverine, was found at the Bloomington Walmart by someone who called officers to come and retrieve it.
The shopper who first spotted the reptile was apparently browsing when she spotted the scaly pattern, which she recognized as a pet owner herself, WXIN reported.
In the caption of the post, animal rescuers described the animal as “a bit stressed and slightly spicy,” saying he was still getting used to being handled.
It is unclear how the snake got into the Walmart, but animal control is putting the python up for adoption, WTHR reported.
