QUEENS, N.Y. — A man suspected of two subway stabbings within 24 hours of each other in or near the 7 train in Queens was arrested without incident Saturday, the New York Police Department confirmed.
Donny Ubiera, 32, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the unprovoked attacks, WABC-TV reported.
Ubiera stands accused of stabbing a 62-year-old man at around 8:30 a.m. EDT Friday aboard a southbound train at the Queensboro Plaza station in Long Island City. He is also suspected of attacking a a 55-year-old man standing on the 7 train platform at around 7:15 a.m. EDT Saturday in the Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Avenue station, WNBC reported.
Police confirmed that the first victim was stabbed in the face and hand, requiring multiple stitches at an area hospital, while the second victim was last listed in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck, the TV station reported.
