Woman Accused Of Stealing From In-Laws For Gambling

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — A Florida woman is accused of stealing more than $513,000 from her elderly in-laws to support her gambling habit.

Hernando County Sheriff's detectives arrested 42-year-old Jennifer Dennison Tuesday following a five-month investigation that began when family members checked with the bank after a check bounced in August. They learned that the accounts held by 88-year-old Laverne Robert Dennison and 73-year-old Janet A. Dennison had been emptied.

According to a report, Jennifer Dennison spent $14 million over two years at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Her winnings totaled about $13 million.

Authorities say her husband, Scott Dennison, held power of attorney for his parents but Jennifer Dennison handled his finances.

She now faces multiple charges and remains in jail. No attorney was listed for her.
