ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Orlando International Airport has closed until further notice because of Hurricane Irma and its impact on Central Florida.
The airport ceased operations Saturday at 5 p.m. to all commercial aircraft and then tweeted ominous photos of empty kiosks and no lines at check-ins.
It’s unclear when the airport will reopen.
Hurricane Irma is expected to impact Central Florida on Sunday night into Monday morning. According to our team of WFTV meteorologists, the hurricane will bring rain, heavy wind, power outages and downed trees.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
