Tropical Storm Karl to bring significant rain to parts of Mexico

ORLANDO, Fla. — Tropical Storm Karl is continuing to move south toward Mexico.

Channel 9 meteorologist Rusty McCranie said heavy rains and flash flooding with mudslides are expected as Karl’s slow movement will bring significant rain to parts of Mexico.

Elsewhere in the tropics, McCranie said a tropical wave just off the west coast of Africa has a 20% chance of development over the next five days as it moves west-northwest. He said it’s still very common in mid-October for tropical waves in the eastern Atlantic to at least have a low chance of development.
