TAMPA, Fla.,None — A former Florida teacher, who pleaded guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old student, is no longer on probation. A Tampa judge released Debra Lafave on Thursday from serving the last four years of her probation.

Lafave was arrested in 2005 after admitting to the sexual relationship with her middle school student. She served three years on house arrest and three years on probation.
The victim's sister, who did not want to be identified, spoke in court and argued that her brother would want Lafave to serve out all of her probation. "I cannot make it more clear to you that he is very much opposed to this," she said.
Lafave's attorney argued she complied with the rules of her probation for years and the restrictions were making it hard on her new life as an engaged woman and mother of newborn twin boys.
