EDGEWATER, Fla. — Two people escaped injuries after a small plane crashed in Volusia County Tuesday morning.

According to Edgewater Fire-Rescue the plane slid off the runway and into a water-filled ditch at the Massey Ranch Airpark just after 9 a.m.

Officials say two people inside the plane were able to climb out of the experimental aircraft before fire crews arrived.
