2 struck by lightning while leaving Yankees spring training game in Tampa, police say

TAMPA, Fla. — Two people were struck by lightning while leaving a New York Yankees spring training game in Florida, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Police said the lightning strike occurred around 3:45 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium.

A man in his 60s and a woman in her 20s were both struck in parking Lot 1, officers said.

The Yankees were playing against the Atlanta Braves, according to the team schedule.

Tampa Fire Rescue officials said they took both patients to the hospital.

At last check, the victims were in stable condition, firefighters said.
