ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando’s first public pickleball courts opened on Wednesday morning.
The city held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the courts at the Dover Shores Neighborhood Center.
Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz attended the ceremony.
The park features six new pickleball courts.
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the nation.
The city said it built the court to meet residents demands.
Orlando leaders said the courts are part of the city’s efforts to provide quality amenities at city parks for all ages to enjoy.
