VIERA, Fla. — Brevard County Public School employees lined up at the health department Saturday to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The event was for employees who are ages 65 and older, and by appointment only.
For Nancy Willis, waiting in this line for a COVID-19 vaccine was no big deal.

“It’s moving pretty fast,” Willis said, especially compared to 2020, which she said crawled by.
“I don’t know how we’ve gotten by. I’m thankful,” she said.
Willis is a secretary at Kennedy Middle School and said people in the area have tested positive in the past.
“Knock on wood, I’ve been very lucky,” she said.
She said all that time without a vaccine was worrisome, especially knowing she was potentially exposing her husband.

“My husband’s a veteran and he hasn’t been able to get one, and he’s older,” she said.
Brevard County officials said they had around 700 appointments scheduled on Saturday.
