PALM BAY, Fla. — Palm Bay police and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigated Monday after a suspicious object was found in a backyard off Airview Avenue near Croton Road in Palm Bay.
According to police, the object found was being treated as a pipe bomb.

Police said they don’t know what the object was, and BCSO was called in to render the object harmless.
As of 2 p.m., police said the device had been removed and disposed of safely and that the area is clear.
