BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 30-year-old man wanted in Kansas and four Florida jurisdictions, including Cocoa, was arrested Monday and is facing a long list of felony charges.
James Bruce Miller was found at a Knights Inn motel in Jacksonville along with a car reported stolen in Cocoa.
Miller is wanted in Cocoa in connection with the armed robbery of three businesses. He faces two counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted armed robbery, five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of carjacking.
He is accused of stealing the car with which he was found in Jacksonville from victims of an armed robbery at Joe’s Bestway Deli on Peachtree Street in Cocoa.
“We were fortunate to be able to make the arrest before he continued with his crime spree and, God forbid, someone got hurt,” Cocoa police detective Mark Rush said. “What we are finding out now is he has a lengthy criminal history and a long list of agencies with pending charges against him.”
Miller is wanted in Kansas on a charge of failure to appear in connection with charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is also wanted in connection with armed robberies in Titusville, Manatee County and Brevard County.
