2 arrested, 1 sought after robbery, chase from Daytona Beach to DeLand

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Two people were arrested and a third person is being sought in connection to an armed robbery that led to a police chase through Volusia County early Sunday.

Daytona Beach police were called to the Jolly World convenience store on Mason Avenue near Nova Road just after 3:30 a.m. where they said two men were robbed at gunpoint.

One of the suspects took one of the victims’ pants and snatched a gold chain from his neck, before making him run down the street in his underwear, reports said.

Officers eventually located the suspects’ vehicle, which led to a pursuit that ended in a neighborhood in DeLand.

Police said three suspects then ran from the vehicle, but Gregory Richardson and Rashad Williams were caught and arrested.

The search continues for the third person police saw fleeing the vehicle.

The victim’s pants were found at Midway and Speedway boulevards with an ID still in the pocket.

A gun was found near a Starbucks on Speedway Boulevard.

The vehicle the suspects were driving was stolen out of Orlando, police said.

Williams and Richardson are facing charges of armed robbery, and fleeing and eluding.
