LAKELAND, Fla. — An investigation is underway in Lakeland after a man was found shot to death in a car with a sleeping passenger by his side.
Deputies responded to the Kimberlea Apartments on Sylvester Road Sunday morning after someone called 911 saying there appeared to be two people shot inside a Chevy Silverado near the clubhouse.
Officers found a Tyler McQueen, 23, shot dead in the driver's seat and a passenger, Brandon Burkett, who was sleeping.
The passenger was allegedly unaware of the shooting.
Detectives are interviewing the passenger, witnesses and canvassing the apartment complex.
The victim’s name has not been released.
The investigation is still ongoing.
