Feds: Man used babysitting ads to try to have contact with children

ORLANDO, Fla. — Federal authorities said they have arrested a man who used babysitting ads to try to gain access to children.

An investigation into Nathan Bryan, 39, began when undercover detectives said they made contact with him during an online chat session. Bryan was attempting to get babysitting jobs by answering Craigslist ads, according to authorities.

After more than a year of investigating, Bryan was taken into custody. Arrest documents say he was not only targeting children in his hometown of Bradenton, but also Orlando.

Detectives said they posed as a single father needing a male to babysit his 8-year-old and engage in sex acts with the boy. Bryan allegedly responded to the listing and exchanged explicit text messages with the undercover agent.

At one point, Bryan moved to Orlando and that’s why authorities have put out a warning to parents in central Florida.

Bryan was charged with attempted enticement of a minor and is being held in jail without bond. Anyone who may have hired Bryan for babysitting jobs is asked to contact the FBI office in Tampa.
